These small and handy watering wicks ensure that your flowers get the right amount of water when you are away on holiday. The pack includes five watering wicks, which means that you can water five different house plants at once.
How to use it
In order for the wicks to work properly, it is important to soak them before use. Soak the wicks overnight and they will be ready to use the next morning. Once the wicks have been soaked, place one end of the watering wick in a container filled with water. Make a hole in the soil and bury the other end of the wick in the pot. It is enough for the wick to be buried about four centimetres into the soil, but make sure that a small part of the plastic cover is also covered by soil.

The watering wick will now transfer water from the container to the pot depending on your plants' needs. The soil will absorb the water from the wick, which uses capillary action to transport the water from the container to the pot. The plastic cover around the wick prevents the water from evaporating on its way from the container to the plant pot.
The amount of water needed depends on the plant's size and pot, the weather, and where the plant is placed. If it is hot and the plant is placed in the sun, it will need more water than otherwise.
A smart holiday waterer
The watering wick will keep watering your plant as long as there is still water in the container. It is a good idea to check on the container once a week to ensure that there is still water in it. In good conditions and with a large water container, the wicks can water your plants for up to about three weeks.
Important to consider
Note! The level of water in the container needs to be equal to or lower than the level of soil in the pot. Otherwise the wick will transfer more water to the pot than the plant actual needs. If you have a large pot with a thirsty plant, you may want to use several wicks for the same pot. The watering wicks are made of polyester and come in a pack of five. Make sure the wicks are soaked properly before each time you use them.
