- Smart irrigation for planting & sowing
- Long-term irrigation for houseplants
- Can be cut to desired size
An irrigation mat makes it possible to water several potted plants at the same time by means of sub-irrigation when you are on holiday, for example. The irrigation mat is also convenient to use in combination with a tray or bed for planting, transplanting and replanting.
Submerge with capillary mat
With sub-irrigation, plants can supply themselves with as much water as they need. As long as part of the irrigation mat is soaked, the potted plants will be able to soak up water from a water reservoir, through the irrigation mat and up through the roots, using capillary action.
Adjust the size of the irrigation mat
The irrigation mat is 50 cm wide and 100 cm long. You can cut the fabric to make the irrigation mat fit perfectly in your irrigation trough. You can also split it if you want to use the irrigation mat in two different places.
Good to know before using the irrigation mat
Make sure the pots you use have holes in the bottom and that the roots can have contact with the carpet. Soak the mat thoroughly before placing the pots on it.
Irrigation of houseplants
1. Soak the irrigation mat thoroughly.
2. Place the irrigation mat on a flat and water-resistant surface, such as the sink.
3. Place one short side of the irrigation mat in a water-filled container or sink filled with water.
4. Make sure the pots have holes in the bottom and place your pots on the mat.
5. The capillary effect now ensures that the roots of the plants can suck in the amount of water they need.
Irrigation for sowing, rooting and transplanting
1. Wet the irrigation mat thoroughly and place it in a large growing tray.
2. Place the tray on a flat surface.
3. Place your pots in the tray on the mat. Make sure your pots have holes in the bottom.
4. Water both the mat and the pots until the plants have taken root.
5. Once the plants have rooted, you can switch to adding water only to the growing tray.
