Solar energy is a good solution when electricity is not available and batteries are too heavy to carry around. The LuminAid Packlite Nova is a compact, super-light and sleek lantern that can bring soaring illumination to even the most remote of places.
Attach the lantern to your backpack, tent or boat and let the sun recharge the lamp throughout the day. In the evening you'll have a comforting lantern that spreads a bright little light all throughout the night.
Lightweight and compact, this lantern can go with you nearly anywhere. The 1-metre waterproof construction means it can also be used in just about any kind of weather, plus it is designed to float for even more utility. The LuminAid is easy to carry since it attaches to the outside of your backpack meaning it doesn't occupy any space in your pack while also getting maximum exposure from the sun.
With a simple hand twist, you can easily unfold the lamp and inflate it to its full size via the air valve. Once fully inflated the lamp can stand by itself or you can hang it up using the adjustable strap.
The lamp has five modes: Turbo (75 lumens), High (50 lumens), Medium (25 lumens), Low (12 lumens) and Flashing (12 lumens). Depending on the brightness, the lamp stays lit for up to 3 hours in the Turbo mode and will last several days in Flashing mode.
A handy indicator displays the current battery level so that you're always well-prepared. The solar cells can fully charge the built-in battery in just 10 hours to ensure minimal downtime, but if you need it in a pinch you can charge in just 1-2 hours with the supplied micro USB cable. The battery can be recharged thousands of times and can be stored for up to 2 years without being charged. The solar lantern measures 12 cm x 12 cm x 2.5 cm when collapsed for easy packing.
