With the portable Scrubba washing machine you can easily wash your clothes when travelling. Scrubba is easy to pack and it only takes a few minutes for you to freshen up your T-shirts and underwear, whether you are in the middle of the woods, on top of a mountain or in your hotel room.
Scrubba is a waterproof bag that is filled with dirty washing, water and detergent according to the dotted lines on the outside. Once you have closed the waterproof lock and released the extra air through the valve, it is time to start kneading the bag. One of the sides is rough and knobbly and works just like an old-fashioned washboard that you rub your clothes against.
The back of Scrubba has good grip and doesn't move about on the ground as you rub your washing. You can see the detergent lather through the transparent window, and your washing is ready to be rinsed and hung up to dry within minutes!
Scrubba comes in handy in all kinds of situations, not just on long hikes! You can use Scrubba on your business trip, on the boat, in a caravan, when camping or backpacking! Always having a washing machine at hand means you can pack less clothes and lighten the weight of your luggage. You can also use Scrubba as a bucket or a dry bag for storing items that are not waterproof.
Ash Newland from Australia came up with the idea for Scrubba in 2010 when he was travelling around the world doing such things as climbing Kilimanjaro. He had to travel light, which meant that he needed to be able to wash the few items of clothing he had packed. Ash combined a classic washboard with a waterproof bag and a few prototypes later, the modern portable washing machine Scrubba had been invented!
The company Scrubba supports several projects that help vulnerable areas gain access to clean water. The company has donated money to various projects in Kenya, Bangladesh and Ethiopia.

This is how easy Scrubba is to use!
1. Fill the bag with clothes, water and detergent according to the markings.2. Roll up the bag and close it.
3. Unscrew the valve and release the air.
4. Close the valve and knead the bag for from 30 seconds up to 5 minutes.
5. Rinse the clothes with clean water.
6. Hang the clothes up to dry.
