- Allows for easy and smooth scooping of tea leaves
- Fine-mesh strainer captures even the smallest leaves
- Easy to clean
This speciality spoon-shaped tea strainer features a sliding lid that has been equipped with very small holes that allow water to pass through unobstructed but will prevent passage for even the smallest and most delicate tea leaves. This tea strainer comes to us from Drosselmeyer as a Swedish-designed, highly stylish, and eminently practical device. It is particularly well-suited for smaller tea leaves but works beautifully with leaves of all kinds.
Whether you drink a cup of tea occasionally or every single day, we all probably have a favourite blend that we prefer to enjoy in the morning and on cosy evenings. Whether you're in the mood for black, red or green, many tea varieties have very small and fine leaves that are difficult to capture with a regular tea strainer.
Slide the lid upwards to open and use the spoon to scoop up tea leaves. Close the lid and lower the entire strainer into a mug filled with boiled water. Allow the tea to stand, taking out the strainer once the desired strength is achieved. Pull the strainer towards the edge of the cup before placing it directly on the table to avoid any spillage. The tea strainer is designed for one cup but the amount of tea that can fit in the spoon is enough to brew two.
The tea strainer from Drosselmeyer is made of plastic and the sliding lid is made of metal. The tee strainer can be cleaned easily by rinsing it under warm water. It can also be washed in a dishwasher if needed.
