The LARQ water filter jug is the new generation of water purification jug that purifies water and makes it taste better. The filter jug has an advanced plant-based nanocolour filter and also uses UV light to periodically self-clean the dispenser of bacteria.

The water filter jug is easy to use and the water purification is done automatically when you fill the jug with drinking water. The lid on top folds down under the weight of the water jet and you can use a one-handed grip to easily fill from the tap.

Two-stage filtration and cleaning

The water filter jug uses an advanced water filter and UV-C light to clean the water in two steps. The nanofilter cleans the water of many heavy metals and chemicals while the UV light eliminates bacteria and smaller organisms that slip through the filter.

The combination provides a fresh and tasty water to drink as it is, or use for coffee, tea or juice.

Nano Zero Filter

When you pour water into the jug, it is purified by the plant-based nanocolour filter. The filter removes chemicals, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), PFAS/PFOA, pharmaceuticals and microplastics down to 40 microns. It also neutralises the taste so that the water no longer tastes of mud, metal or other flavours.

The filter is tested and approved to NSF/ANSI 42, 53 & 401 standards and achieves more than 90% reduction of a variety of contaminants, such as chlorine, mercury, cadmium, copper, lead, VOC's, airborne particulates, benzene, PFAS/PFOA. The filter has a lifetime of about 2-3 months. It should then be replaced.

Self-cleaning PureVis™ technology

The PureVis water filter jug technology uses UV-C light to neutralise bacteria, viruses, fungi and other bio-pollutants that the filter fails to capture. The purple UV-C light is automatically activated when you fill the jug with water, and stays on for about 10 seconds every 6 hours.

Regular self-cleaning ensures that bacteria do not grow in the jug and that the water continues to taste and smell good even after it has been filtered. You can also switch on the UV purification manually by pressing the λ button on the handle.

Filter counter PureVis™ Wand

The electronic part of the handle - the PureVis™ Wand has several smart features. It powers the UV light, keeps track of the filter life and measures how much water has passed through the filter and at what speed the water is filtered.

The PureVis™ Wand also indicates the status of the filter through different colour codes when you fill up with water or press the λ button. If the light is blue, the filter is OK. If it flashes orange, it's time to order a new filter and if it glows a solid orange, it's time to replace the filter. You can also keep track of the filter through the LARQ app (for iOS Apple users only).

The PureVis™ Wand is powered by a rechargeable lithium polymer battery and is charged with the included USB cable. One charge usually lasts for about a month.

Filter Change

The filter should be replaced after about 2-3 months, or after you have filtered 227 litres of water (60 gallons). Soak the new filter in water for about 10 minutes before installing it in the jug. Then fill the jug once and pour out the water. You can then use the jug as usual.

Note that when you change to a new filter, or after a long period of non-use, you may see traces of black, harmless plant-based carbon in the water. Replace the water in the feeder if you wish, but it is not compulsory.

Resetting the filter counter

When you change filters, you need to reset the filter counter. Either do it in the app, or manually by holding down the λ button for 5 seconds. The light indicator will glow white for 5 seconds, then it will flash again with blue light.

Cleaning of applicators

Be sure to wash the decanter thoroughly in the dishwasher every 2-3 months when you change the filter. Remove the filter and PureVis Wand and place the jug in the dishwasher. Place the lid and other small loose parts on top of the dishwasher.

The PureVis Wand is waterproof but should not be run in the dishwasher. Instead, hand wash with mild soap and warm water.
