Punkt is a Swedish-designed ceiling mount from Örsjö lighting which is practical when you want to hang your lamp some distance from the power outlet in the ceiling. The ceiling mount provides a nicer attachment point that can either be used as a ceiling hook directly above the ceiling lamp or as an attachment point that holds up the cord between the socket and the lamp.
Screw to the ceiling
The Punkt ceiling mount consists of a metal bracket and a two-part plastic holder through which the cord is threaded. Attach the metal bracket to the ceiling with a suitable screw. Remove the plastic holder and attach it to the metal bracket by pressing the buttons on the side of the two-part plastic holder.
Use Punkt as a ceiling hook
Detach the plastic holder from the metal bracket. Thread the cord through the plastic holder, in through the hole on the side and out through the hole underneath. Assemble the plastic holder and place it back in the metal bracket.
The plastic holder pinches the cord and fixes the height of the lamp. You can easily remove the plastic holder from the metal bracket again and quickly adjust the cord length and height of the lamp if it didn't turn out perfectly straight away.
Use as a cord holder between a socket and lamp
Remove the plastic holder from the metal bracket. Remove the thin plastic cover on one side of the plastic holder with a knife so that you can thread the cord straight through the plastic holder. Thread the cord through the plastic holder, put the two plastic parts together and use the small white plug that comes with it to close the hole in the base. Place the plastic holder back in the metal bracket.
