The Seek Thermal Compact is a portable thermal camera that allows you to see what the ordinary eye cannot detect. The thermal camera connects directly to your mobile phone to use the thermal IR sensor to provide valuable information about your surroundings ? a great way to solve various problems at home as it serves as an extra-vigilant eye in the dark.
The heat camera can be used both during the day and at night. It makes it easy to locate poorly insulated walls, ceilings and window sills and can help find air and water leaks that cause drafts, water damage and other issues if left undetected.
At night, the thermal camera is valuable as it lets us see well beyond our normal abilities. Hunters can spot wild animals in total darkness; campers can check their campfire from afar; pet owners can stay alert for wild animals.
For electricians and plumbers, the thermal camera is an effective tool for detecting overheated electrical components and defects in underfloor heating elements. It can also help find poorly insulated cables and makes it easy to locate plugs in tubes.
The thermal camera records temperatures between - 40° C and 330° C by displaying the environment in various colours. It can also show detailed temperature points in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. With a 36 degree viewing angle, the thermal camera can record surroundings up to about 300 metres away. The Seek Thermal Compact comes with a waterproof and protective case.
The thermal camera is available in two models, one for iPhone and one for Android phones. The accompanying free app can be downloaded from the iTunes AppStore and Google Play store.
