Glass is the best material for storing food and beverages. It keeps food fresh and free from harmful chemicals and can be reused endlessly if handled with care. The Swedish Nature Conservation Foundation discourage the use of plastic baby bottles as hormone disrupting chemicals can leak out into the contents of the bottle, especially when heated up. A plastic baby bottle isn't necessarily safe from dangerous chemicals just because it is BPA-free.
The KeepJar baby bottle allows you to reuse all your old glass baby food jars and use them as nursing bottles.
The KeepJar package includes all the nursing bottle accessories; a silicon case, a flow teat, a lid and two pacifier rings. All you need is a clean, glass baby food jar and in just a few seconds you've got yourself a nursing bottle for baby formula and other thick liquids.
The flow teat is threaded through the pacifier ring, which is then pressed down over the jar's edges and twisted shut. Place the jar in the protective silicon case and put on the lid. The nursing bottle is now ready to be transported and used anywhere.
The nursing bottle's pacifier ring and silicon case fit 100 ml to 260 ml jars and the ideal fit is achieved with jars weighing between 190 and 220 grams (200 ml). KeepJar is compatible with most standard baby food brands such as: Holle?, Änglamark? and Nestlé?. Unfortunately, KeepJars are incompatible with Semper? products.
The flow teat should be boiled for 5 minutes before use. The silicon case, the pacifier ring and the lid can be washed in dishwashing machines along with the glass jar. To boil the pacifier ring and the lid: bring water to boil and then place the pacifier ring and the lid in the boiling water. Boil for a maximum of 2 minutes and then cool them down in cold water.
The award-winning innovator AnnaMaja Segtnan won the 2013 Innovation of the Year with this product.
The Innovation of the Year is handed out by the branch organisation Child and Baby, which gave the following motivation: "KeepJar is multifunctional and encourages recycling. The Innovation of the Year comes at an opportune time for all conscious parents out there.
